Starter Kit UIs

Photobook Editor

Definition

A CE.SDK Starter Kit for building multi-page photobook creation experiences, with themed templates, guided layouts, and a simplified interface that presents only the controls relevant to photo placement and page management. Rather than confronting users with a general-purpose design surface, the Photobook Editor narrows the experience to the decisions that matter for a photobook: which theme, which layout, and which photos go where.

Unlike most CE.SDK Starter Kits, the Photobook Editor is built on CE.SDK’s headless API rather than the standard editor UI. The product team controls the entire interface: the CreativeEngine handles rendering and scene management underneath, but nothing about the visual shell is inherited from the standard editor configuration. This makes it the right choice when the end-user experience needs to feel like a native photobook tool rather than an embedded design editor.

What the Photobook Editor Includes

  • A theme selector for choosing event-based or aesthetic styles, applicable per page
  • Multi-page management: add, remove, and reorder pages, each with independent layout choices
  • Placeholder-driven photo editing: tap a placeholder to upload or select a photo, then crop and position it within the frame
  • Pre-populated starting layouts so users begin with a partially designed book rather than a blank document
  • Export to print-ready formats for print-on-demand fulfillment

Typical Use Cases

Consumer Photobook Services

Print-on-demand services for users assembling photos from a recent event: a wedding, holiday, graduation. The guided flow removes the barrier a general design tool would create: theme selection, layout picking, and photo dropping are the only decisions exposed.

Photography Platforms & Studios

Offer printed products alongside digital delivery. Embedding a photobook creation flow keeps the customer within the platform from shoot to print order, rather than directing them to a third-party tool where the studio loses visibility into the transaction.

Event Keepsakes & Gifting Products

Sports teams, schools, travel companies: a curated photo collection that needs to become a physical object. The template and theme system lets the platform enforce consistent branding or event-specific styling while still allowing personal photo selection.
