The mobile video timeline now supports multiple clips per foreground track. Long-press any clip to drag it within a track, across tracks, or into a gap to create a new track. Split, trim, and move are all gap-aware and respect locked clips.

The Background Removal plugin is now available for Android. Users can remove backgrounds from images directly in the editor, without leaving the app or sending images to an external server.

Define how far elements can be dragged beyond a page or parent boundary. This is now fairly simple with new movement constraint APIs.

Allow partial overflow where it makes sense while keeping content inside the intended editable area everywhere else.

This means more precise control over template behavior. Useful for any use case where content boundaries need to be enforced.

CE.SDK now supports APNG import. Animated PNG files load and behave in line with GIF import, giving you a second animated format to work with in your editor.

The engine can now extract the most prominent colors from an image already placed on the canvas. The data is available programmatically, ready to feed into palette suggestions.

Clicks now pass through transparent image areas to the element underneath. Selecting stacked elements just got easier.

Instead of selecting the top image, the click passes through to the element below. Now, users can reach and select elements from overlapping images without trouble.

Snapping guides have been refined to better show what is being aligned, using bounded guide segments, clearer visual distinctions, and new anchor-to-anchor feedback, making object placement and path editing more predictable and easier to understand.

The color input system in the web editor has been rebuilt. The user-facing result: gradient editing now works the way you’d expect it to.

Create and edit linear, radial, and conical gradients Add and remove gradient colors, and switch between gradient types without losing the colors. Color picking now works consistently across all contexts: fill, stroke, shadow, and text.

Every web demo is now a Starter Kit. That means 46 fully-fledged, clonable app templates. Starter Kits are production-ready configurations complete with the toolbars, behaviors, and workflows a real product needs.

Professional print workflows have a high bar for color fidelity. v1.74 raises CE.SDK’s output to meet it.

• Spot colors are written as device CMYK in the exported file, matching what professional print pipelines expect.
• Overprint on text is preserved correctly.
• You can now opt out of ICC profile embedding in the print-ready PDF plugin when your workflow doesn’t need it.

CE.SDK v1.73 adds SVG export.

Text is exported as vector paths for consistent rendering across environments regardless of font availability. Drop shadows, blur, effects, and embedded raster images are rasterized and included as embedded images within the SVG output.

The old model was simple: drop in a solution component (PhotoEditor, VideoEditor, DesignEditor), pass a license key, ship. For most teams, that was exactly the right starting point.

The color panel for web is now unified: preview, saved colors, and custom editing controls all live in one place. Users can pick, adjust, and reuse colors in a single continuous workflow, without a separate modal or extra clicks.

CMYK Color Mode for Web Additionally, the web editor supports restricting the color picker to a specific color mode: RGB, CMYK. When CMYK is enforced, elements using a different color mode show a clear convert option rather than broken inputs. New pages, asset library blocks, and fill type switches automatically convert colors to match the configured mode.

On Android, Images, stickers, and shapes now display one thumbnail per clip, instead of repeating across the track. The timeline is cleaner and easier to read, keeping complex video compositions tidy on mobile screens.

Audio clips now display actual waveform visualization, replacing the previous placeholder. Users can see exactly where audio peaks and drops — making precise edits faster and more intuitive.

Users can now adjust the playback speed of video and audio clips via a dedicated Speed UI. This has been one of the most-requested mobile features and is now available on both platforms.

Multiple clips can now be combined into a single manageable unit with synchronized timing, trimming, and a unified timeline representation.

This enables complex, multi-layer content production and speeds up the design process.

Install the plugin for Claude Code or Cursor and your AI coding agent becomes a CE.SDK expert with bundled access to guides, API references, and starter kits across 10 web frameworks. No external services, no MCP servers, no context-switching.

Text Designs are prebuilt text elements users can insert into a design, similar to ready-made headlines, callouts, or fun text layouts. CE.SDK Text Designs are now more robust for more complex designs. Each text design is handled as a self-contained component that automatically includes the assets it needs, making templates more reliable and easier to scale.

Archive exports on the web are now more memory-friendly and stable, especially for large, resource-heavy projects. Instead of loading all assets into memory at once, CE.SDK now streams or writes exports incrementally, significantly reducing memory usage during export. For your users, this engine update provides a reliable experience when saving or sharing complex designs.

CE.SDK now fully supports right-to-left (RTL) text input, making it easy to build editors for languages like Arabic, Hebrew, and Persian (Farsi). Text direction switches automatically, characters flow correctly, and cursor movement behaves as users expect when typing and editing. For your users, this means a native text editing experience in their language. For your product, it unlocks multilingual workflows without workarounds.

CE.SDK for Web now supports transparent WebM videos making it easy to layer animations, overlays, and motion elements without a background. This opens up new creative possibilities for effects, lower thirds, UI animations, and branded motion content directly in the editor.

For your web editor, you can control whether an asset library (for example, stock photos) is searchable using the isSearchable field. When no visible library supports search, the search bar is hidden automatically.

When users apply styling without selecting text, CE.SDK for Web now updates the entire text block instead of applying the style only to future characters. This feels more predictable and matches user expectations in formatting-heavy workflows.

Let your users design products like apparel, mugs, phone cases, and more with a real-time, fully interactive product editor made with CE.SDK. The Web Product Editor UI demo shows how CE.SDK handles multiple print areas, live mockups, and print-ready design exports in a streamlined workflow. Your users can now change video speed right in the web editor. Slow clips down to spotlight important moments, or speed them up to keep content tight and engaging. This removes the need for external editing apps and keeps more creation inside your product.

When selecting any element, the canvas menu appears and contains a “more options” drown-down section. It is now fully customizable using the builder API. You can add, remove, or reorder menu items and include individual actions (flip, copy, paste, etc.). Get more control over the editor UI, and tailor tools and workflows to your users’ needs.

Force Crop is now available for Mobile, as seen for the Web editor: If a user uploads media that does not fit the intended layout, the editor can automatically crop or guide users through cropping, so the final design looks exactly as intended. It is especially valuable for social stories, ads, marketplace listings, and any workflow where the output size must be precise.

Force Crop supports three modes so you can choose how much control you give users:

• silent — Applies the crop automatically without showing the crop UI.
• always — Applies the preset and always opens crop mode, so users can review and adjust.
• ifNeeded — Only opens the crop UI when the media does not match the required ratio.

We are excited to introduce a new platform: CE.SDK Renderer brings production grade exporting to your backend, allowing you to turn CE.SDK templates into finished media with the speed, consistency, and scale required for modern creative automation.

Our CE.SDK engine now supports playback speed control for videos, GIFs, and audio. Developers can programmatically adjust speed using setPlaybackSpeed and getPlaybackSpeed. Within our next releases, your users will be able to fine-tune video speed right inside the editor, using an intuitive user interface for the Web.

CE.SDK now plays a live preview whenever you add or update an animation. Your users can immediately see how their animations behave without pressing “play,” making it faster to fine-tune motion and create polished results. Our Engine now supports .json Lottie files as video fills. Add lightweight, scalable animations to video projects without large asset sizes.

CE.SDK now introduces new Actions and Utils APIs that simplify how you manage editor workflows. With the Actions API, tasks like save, export, load, or upload are managed centrally instead of across multiple places. This reduces repetition and makes it easier to customize how users interact with the editor. The Utils API adds ready-to-use defaults for dialogs, file handling, exporting, and scene management. Our Theming API lets you style the web editor’s user interface, so it matches your brand: toolbars, panels, and other elements. Since CE.SDK v1.60, theming supports the P3 color space and OKLCH color format, giving you modern, more accurate colors for your editor’s UI. This ensures branded themes look vibrant and consistent across today’s wide-gamut displays.

We’ve added official Angular support via @cesdk/cesdk-js/angular, bringing the same plug-and-play experience developers already love in React and Vue.

With Settings API, we’ve consolidated the Settings interface and introduced unified setSetting and getSetting methods, replacing multiple type-specific methods. For developers, this means: Cleaner, more consistent API surface; Easier to learn, easier to maintain; Improved TypeScript support with automatic type inference.

Apple’s new Liquid Glass design system in iOS 26 changes safe-area handling, toolbar sizing, and system banners. CE.SDK v1.60 prepares you for this shift: choose whether to embrace the new look or preserve your current layout.

By default, when you build against the iOS 26 SDK, our editor automatically uses the new system visuals and behaviors for seamless alignment with Apple’s latest design language.

If you continue building with a pre–iOS 26 SDK, nothing changes: your app continues to look and behave as before, and our SDK maintains the previous experience.

If you want to build with the iOS 26 SDK but temporarily keep the classic UI, Apple provides an Info.plist switch: UIDesignRequiresCompatibility to enable UI compatibility mode.

When this is present, your app won’t adopt Liquid Glass, and our SDK will mirror that choice to remain consistent with the rest of your app.

Note: Apple hasn’t published a deprecation date for this compatibility key; plan your migration accordingly.

CE.SDK for Web now adapts to your users’ system settings out of the box. A new system theme option automatically switches between light and dark mode. Because theming works at runtime, you don’t need to reload the editor to apply changes — making it easier to deliver seamless experiences.

CE.SDK now supports MKV (Matroska) files, including H.264, H.265/HEVC, AAC, and MP3 alongside VP8, VP9, AV1, and Opus. More uploads work out of the box, reducing friction for your users.

Configure whether images must be cropped before editing. With Force Crop for Web and our Engine, you set the aspect ratio or format for your users’ project.

Three modes give you full control:

• Always — The editor opens in crop mode, and users crop before they can edit.
• If Needed — Users see crop mode only if the image doesn’t fit the required format.
• Silent — The preset format is applied automatically, without showing the crop step.

Inspired by the Ken Burns effect, this feature lets you smoothly pan and zoom across images, creating dynamic storytelling without complex editing. When a glyph is unavailable in the selected font, CE.SDK automatically falls back to a configurable default font. This prevents localization issues and ensures seamless text rendering, perfect for your global projects.

This web feature is perfect for customizing how images appear in designs and templates, allowing for more precise control. With Fill Mode for images, you can choose from three options:

• Crop — Resizes and may crop the image to fill the block.
• Cover — The image fully covers the block while remaining centered both vertically and horizontally.
• Fit — Scales the image to fit within the block without cropping, leaving space if necessary.

We’re introducing animation support for our Video Editor for the web. With this update, you can now apply various animations, such as blur, zoom, and slide, to elements directly within the editor.

Animate and Fine-Tune Settings — Select a “block” on your canvas — that includes images, videos, text, shapes, and stickers. Then choose from twelve in-and-out animations or nine loop animations. Lastly, fine-tune your selected animation, by tweaking the properties, for custom movement and transition.

To get started, navigate to “Add Audio”, select “Voiceover” section and start recording. You can preview the recording, re-record it, and add more audio, such as music. Adjust the audio levels for a balanced background track.

Get started with our new Design Editor configuration for iOS and Android!

The out-of-the-box package is designed for easy creation and management of multipage designs. Users can switch between editing and the page overview mode to review and adjust their work.

Keep the design process straightforward and efficient: the editor features a dock at the bottom, offering convenient access to essential tools like adding text, images, stickers, and uploading new assets. Additionally, you can insert a photo directly from your camera.

Page Management — Create and manage your design pages within a template. It’s easy to create fun carousel posts, as seen on Instagram and LinkedIn, or create a series. Head to the “Pages” icon on the top right bar. In the page overview, you can create, duplicate, and edit a page. Lastly, you can change the order of pages by moving them up and down.

Image Settings — Selecting an image lets you fine-tune adjustment settings, and add filters, effects, or blur. Easily crop, straighten, rotate, or flip images.

Our new Photo Editor Configuration is designed to offer an intuitive, out-of-the-box solution that bundles a range of key photo editing capabilities. Enhance individual photos, add text and shapes, or apply filters—this configuration is a kick-start to provide high-quality photo editing for iOS and Android with CE.SDK.

We’re excited to introduce the first part of our plugin release for CE.SDK on the web: with this release, you can tailor the editor’s UI elements, reorder components, and add quick actions like background removal.

We’ve enabled extension points within key areas of the UI: the Canvas, Navigation bar, Inspector Bar, Dock, and Canvas Menu. Modify the appearance of existing features, register new components, and integrate quick actions. For example, you can add a “Background Removal” button directly in the Canvas Menu or create complex interactions like custom cut-out lines.

Easily make green screen backgrounds transparent in your images and videos on the Web, and for images on Android and iOS. Our Green Screen Effect is tailored to identify and eliminate green backdrops—or any other color you specify. Perfect for content creators and videographers who need to isolate subjects without manually editing backgrounds.

Select an image or video clip with a color background you wish to remove. Then choose “Green Screen” in the Effects, and our effect handles the rest. Fine-tune the effect to your liking.

Replace colors in any image with our new recoloring feature. Select a color you want to change, choose its replacement, and apply the changes. Recoloring is ideal for tasks like altering the color of specific elements, such as t-shirts in product photos.

Simply choose your image, navigate to Effects, and select “Recolor”. Choose the color you want to change (Source Color), and the color you want to replace it with (Target Color). For a more refined result, adjust “Smoothness”, “Color Match”, and “Brightness Match”.

In our latest update, we’ve focused on enhancing the usability and functionality of our interface. Here’s what’s new:

Audio Preview — Choosing the right audio clip is now easier with our new Audio Preview feature. Preview audio clips directly within the interface and make the perfect selection for your projects.

Selection Frame Improvements — We’ve upgraded our selection frames with new icons, hover effects, enhanced drag functionality, and shadow rendering. These improvements make manipulating elements within our platform more intuitive and visually appealing. We recently launched our CE.SDK Video Editor for the Web. Since the release, we significantly improved the playback performance, leading to smoother editing and playback.

The timeline lets you arrange and edit videos, photos, text, audio, shapes, and stickers. Enhance projects with filters or adjustments, and add a personal touch with customizable audio. We’ve made enhancements for a more user-friendly editor setup of CE.SDK.

To enhance legibility and perception of our UI elements, we have reworked our UI colors, making sure they meet the minimal contrast requirements for an improved experience. Additionally, the active state of settings is now more apparent than it was previously.

Next, libraries and all inspectors open on the same side of our default editor now, instead of on both sides. This reduces mouse travel, saves space, and streamlines workflows.

Additionally, you can now resize images more easily by dragging from any side, not just using the handles. This same feature is also applicable when cropping your image.

Lastly, elements stay selected after grouping or ungrouping. In the past, changing group settings would deselect your elements.

In the past, integrating our editors into your app required developers to manually collect code from our showcases and piece together the UI. This not only demanded effort but also necessitated frequent updates to ensure compatibility with each of our new releases.

To free your time and resources, we are now introducing ready-to-use UI packages for iOS and Android, that bring advanced editors directly to your app. This eliminates the previous labor-intensive process. These packages include a wide range of options, from a fully equipped Video Editor (iOS) and Camera UI (iOS) to specialized examples like an Apparel Editor or Postcard Editor.

We maintain UI packages for you, ensuring compatibility across devices and development environments. Now, you can immediately start with fully featured editors, staying up-to-date with just a click, and without manual intervention.

Video Content Creation is here! Your users can record videos, blend them with audio, text, and graphics on a timeline. This includes features like countdown timer, and the popular split screen modes for reactions and duets. You may recognize these from Instagram Reels or TikTok. Making adjustments is straightforward using filters, effects, and adjustment settings.

Let’s start with the Camera:

Record a video and utilize the Dual Camera feature. This allows you to record simultaneously with your front and back camera, producing a split-screen video. Determine when the recording begins using a countdown timer.

Create videos within your web app for any platform, including Instagram, TikTok, or YouTube! Here’s what’s new: the integrated timeline supports the arrangement of elements like videos, photos, text, audio, shapes and stickers. Our newly introduced Underlayer API guarantees the preservation of color purity whenever you export designs using our CE.SDK for print. This solution specifically addresses the challenge of maintaining the richness and vibrancy of colors, irrespective of the color of the canvas, which could range from apparel to paper.

When you’re ready to export your design, this feature adds a special “underbase” layer, underneath your design. This layer, typically a white or specific primer coat, makes sure the final printed colors match your original vision perfectly.

Our new Camera Zoom Limits make editing a design easier. Your page stays in focus to avoid accidental scrolling outside the design. The zoom level is set within a minimum and maximum range, ensuring a practical, usable view at all times. When you select an element in your design, it stays in focus when opening adjustments or other inspectors. It allows you to immediately see changes made to the selected element. This improvement is available for iOS and Android, and can be tested in our Design Editor Demo on the App Store and Google Play.

Forge limitless combinations of photos, videos, texts, and shapes with our new boolean operations feature. This dynamic suite includes operations such as Combine, Subtract, Intersect, and Exclude.
