Add a design agent to your product step by step, from files in and files out to an agent that keeps designs in your storage, follows your brand, and hands people files.

Two choices shape the work. Make them first:

  • Choose How Deep to Integrate — start with files in and files out, then add your design store, your files and brand, exports, and generated media as your product needs them.
  • Choose How Users Reach the Agent — a chat in your product, an API, an MCP (Model Context Protocol) server that lets your customers’ own AI assistants use the design tools, or more than one.

Then read the guides for the start and the add-ons you take:

  • Start with files in, files out: Quickstart — run the start on your machine; and Import and Export Files — which files come in and which go out.
  • Add your design store: Connect Your Storage — keep designs in the database you already run; and Your Editor — open the agent’s designs in CE.SDK, IMG.LY’s design editor for the browser, so people can finish them by hand.
  • Add your files and brand: Connect Your Storage — keep files in the bucket you already run; and Bring Your Brand — the typefaces, colors, templates, and rules the agent designs with.
  • Add exports: Connect Your Storage — hand people the files the agent exports.
  • Add generated media: Tools — what the agent generates with gateway, and where the result goes.

Generate Designs From Your Backend Run a design agent from your own backend: a request goes in, finished designs come out, with no chat and no editor.
Serve the Design Tools as an MCP Server Serve the CoDesign SDK's design tools as an MCP server your customers' AI assistants connect to: sign-in, sessions, hosting, and billing.
