What is the integration between IMG.LY and Fal.ai?

It’s a fast way to add AI-powered content generation into a professional-grade visual editor. IMG.LY’s CE.SDK handles the editing UI and UX, while fal.ai provides real-time generative APIs for images, video, and more. Together, they enable fully AI-native creative workflows.

Which AI models are supported?

We offer out-of-the-box implementations for Anthropic, 11Labs, and  Fal.ai .Our documentation also provides detailed instructions for integrating other AI providers using custom endpoints.

How long does it take to get started?

Since we already provide a lot of fal.ai integrations out of the box it should only take a couple of minutes to get started.

Do you also offer a solution for video editing?

Yes, with VideoEditor SDK and CreativeEditor SDK we offer video editing capabilities for Android and iOS. For more information please refer to our VideoEditor SDK or CreativeEditor SDK page.

Will IMG.LY provide API keys for generative AI services?

We have a partnership with Fal.ai, and IMG.LY customers can access the API at a discounted rate.

For testing and evaluation, we offer dedicated API endpoints.

For production use, we recommend integrating directly with the AI provider of your choice to meet scalability and customization requirements.

Who is this integration for?

Is the editor whitelabeled?

Do I need a separate license to use the AI features?

No additional CE.SDK license is required—AI plugins are included in your existing CE.SDK license.

However, the generative AI models used within the plugins require separate API licenses.If you’re unsure which service fits your needs, get in touch. We’re happy to help you evaluate or prototype.

Do I need ML/AI expertise to use fal.ai?

Not at all. Fal.ai abstracts away the complexity of AI models and infrastructure. You get simple APIs that return generated content, no need to train or host your own models.

Do the different SDK versions for the individual platforms all include the same features?

Yes, we ensure feature parity across platforms. For a complete list of the SDK's tools and features please refer to the features section on our product pages for PhotoEditor SDK, Creative Editor SDK and VideoEditor SDK.

Can I use my own AI models?

Yes. Our AI plugin architecture is modular and fully open.

You can integrate any model accessible via API, and the plugin code is open source and available on GitHub.

Our Licenses are validated when launching the SDK, therefore we have a target uptime of 95%.

You’ll need a regular CE.SDK license to access the AI Editor.

What platforms are supported?

CE.SDK supports Web, iOS, Android, and desktop platforms. Fal.ai offers cloud APIs that can be accessed from any frontend or backend environment.

Is there a usage limit in the demo?

Yes. The demo is rate-limited to 5 generated images and 2 videos. If you’d like more extensive access or want to test AI features inside your own product, just get in touch and we’ll provide a dedicated instance.

How is pricing handled for the integration?

Pricing is managed separately by IMG.LY and fal.ai based on your usage, user volume, and product needs. Reach out for tailored pricing plans.

Is it possible to self-host the AI features?

Our AI plugins run client-side and communicate with third-party model APIs. While we don’t offer self-hosting for models, you can host your own models or use private API endpoints if required.

Can I customize the UI of the AI tools?

Yes. CE.SDK allows deep customization of the UI. You can tailor the AI feature layout, interaction patterns, and accessibility to match your app’s design system.
