# How PostingBoost AI Built a Complete Social Media Workflow with CE.SDK

[PostingBoost AI](https://postingboost.de/) is a Cologne startup that builds personalized content plans around funnel marketing, guiding users from first touchpoint to conversion. The platform is developed in Cologne, hosted in Frankfurt, and serves coaches, freelancers, and small and medium businesses across Europe.

To deliver on that, the team needed professional image and video editing inside the product, without the resources to build an editor from scratch. They embedded IMG.LY's CE.SDK. We spoke with founder Demet Karaca and lead developer Muhammad Salman Naseem about what that changed.

## The Challenge: A Workflow With a Gap in the Middle

PostingBoost AI's workflow reads simply enough. Plan the content, design the visuals, publish across channels. Without an integrated editor, the middle step broke the flow, and with it the funnel logic that was supposed to carry from plan to post.

Users planned in PostingBoost, left to design somewhere else, then came back to schedule and publish. Every handoff was a chance for a carefully staged post to lose its intent.

> "Without any sort of editor in our product, it would act as isolated features. You have to plan somewhere, design somewhere else, publish somewhere else. The design part is where CE.SDK comes in, and without that it won't make any sense." -- Muhammad Salman Naseem, Lead Developer, PostingBoost AI

Building the editor in-house was never on the table. The team lacked the expertise, the resources, and the justification. Their value was in content strategy and AI-driven planning, not in rendering engines and filter libraries.

## Finding IMG.LY, and a Licence That Fit a Startup

The search started in 2022 with a benchmark of creative editor providers. Demet wanted something technically solid, professionally built, and ideally European. IMG.LY matched on all three, but at the time the company worked almost entirely with large enterprises, and the licensing was out of reach for a startup.

> "I could have walked away. But as an entrepreneur, you never give up. I reached out to the founder, and he came up with an offer that worked for us. I'm genuinely grateful for that, not just for us, but for every local startup in Germany that deserves access to professional technology without needing an enterprise budget." -- Demet Karaca, Founder, PostingBoost AI

That conversation unlocked the integration, and it fed into a wider change in how IMG.LY works with startups.

## From Photo Editor to CE.SDK

PostingBoost started on IMG.LY's standalone Photo Editor SDK in 2022, which served the product at the time. The launch of the Creative Editor SDK changed the shape of what they could build.

> "The CE.SDK changed everything for us: how we integrate the tooling, how we offer it to our users, and how we work with it internally. It was a significant step forward, and absolutely worth it." -- Demet Karaca, Founder, PostingBoost AI

CE.SDK brought customization and integration depth the earlier SDK could not match. Custom components, custom panels, and API access at every layer from the UI down to the engine. For Salman, who runs all of PostingBoost's development, the difference showed up immediately in maintenance.

> "The most important thing that came with CE.SDK is the customization and ease of integration. You can access UI through APIs, the engine through APIs. It has relieved a lot of maintenance." -- Muhammad Salman Naseem, Lead Developer, PostingBoost AI

The team restructured the product around the new SDK. It took real effort, and it produced an editor that could grow with the product.

## How PostingBoost AI Uses CE.SDK

CE.SDK now sits in the middle of the workflow, joining planning to publishing.

Users start by generating a funnel-based content plan. When it is time to create, they open the editor inside the app and design images or video. AI plugins handle image generation, text refinement, video creation, and audio. Once a design is ready, they schedule and publish to their connected channels without leaving the platform.

The scope has widened over time. PostingBoost built a custom template solution early on, and as IMG.LY expanded its own template capabilities the team began evaluating those instead. Salman puts CE.SDK at 30 to 40 percent of their development lifecycle, which is a fair measure of how central the editor became.

The editor also has to serve a wide span of skill. Some users take the AI output and adjust very little. Freelancers and agencies build custom designs from scratch. Both work.

## The Results

**One workflow instead of three.** Users no longer leave to design. Planning, editing, and publishing happen in one continuous experience.

**Capabilities a small team could not have built.** AI image generation, video editing, and audio tools arrived as part of the SDK rather than as projects.

> "I cannot imagine creating an editor out of the box without CE.SDK. That's off the table. We don't have the expertise, we don't have the team." -- Muhammad Salman Naseem, Lead Developer, PostingBoost AI

**A roadmap they can plan against.** In a market that moves quickly, knowing the editor keeps pace matters more than any single feature.

> "With IMG.LY, we don't have to wonder whether we'll still be relevant tomorrow. We already know we will be." -- Demet Karaca, Founder, PostingBoost AI

**User feedback that points elsewhere.** Through feedback forms and direct conversations, the team hears consistently that users are happy with the editing experience. Demet's remaining challenge is not the editor. It is getting more users to discover how capable it is.

## Overall Impact

The less visible win is where the European question lands. PostingBoost is developed in Cologne and hosted in Frankfurt with full GDPR compliance, and Demet treats that as a principle rather than a marketing line. For customers who care where their data lives, and in Europe that is increasingly most of them, working with an SDK provider under the same rules removes a question that would otherwise need answering in every sales conversation.

The second is the working relationship. Quarterly meetings give PostingBoost a feedback loop where they can raise concerns, request features, and see what is coming, which lets them plan their own development against it.

> "We are not feeling like customers. We are feeling like part of that team, part of a huge family. That makes a huge difference." -- Demet Karaca, Founder, PostingBoost AI

Salman's advice to teams weighing the same decision is short.

> "Just give it a try. It would look complex at first, but as soon as you start, things are quite easy. The documentation: I knew nothing about editors, but I started with the docs and things started to make sense. It would be way easier than you think." -- Muhammad Salman Naseem, Lead Developer, PostingBoost AI

## Key takeaways

- A three-stage product (plan, design, publish) broke at the design step, because users had to leave for an external tool and often lost the intent of a funnel-stage post on the way back.
- Building an editor in-house was never considered: the team had neither the expertise nor a reason to divert engineering away from funnel-based content strategy.
- Moving from the standalone Photo Editor SDK to CE.SDK brought custom components, custom panels, and API access from the UI down to the engine, which cut maintenance.
- AI plugins for image generation, text refinement, video and audio gave a small team creative capabilities it could not have built alone.
- CE.SDK now accounts for 30 to 40 percent of the development lifecycle, a measure of how central the editor became to the product.
- Being developed in Cologne and hosted in Frankfurt under GDPR is treated as a product principle, and an SDK partner in the same jurisdiction supports it.
